No sleep again last night!!! Our poor little boy is not sleeping so good. Ryan and I took shifts throughout the night. Carter still has a runny nose and is coughing really bad. This morning he was picking at his ears, which makes us think he has developed an ear infection.

We had stayed home all day yesterday. Daddy picked up Chinese food for supper! Yum! Michelle came by for a visit to tell us about her trip to Ontario with her sister.

Today is going to be another day around the house. Gramma C. and Grampy are going to be coming in this afternoon.

Sunday was beautiful weather....

We spent a good chunk of the day out on the back deck. Daddy worked on the back hill and Mommy took Carter over to the neighbor's deck to visit. While over there, the neighbor's dog, Maggie dug up their garden. Jan joked that she had a blonde bombshell to help Daddy dig holes in the backyard (Maggie is a Golden Retriever).

Before supper we took Peanut for a walk with Daddy, Mommy, Carter, Jan and the twins, and Maggie. Sunday night Carter's nose began to run...we were afraid that he was getting a cold. By Monday morning we knew that he had a cold...he had a runny nose, he was sneezing and had a bad cough...this is his first cold. Daddy ran over to the drug store to get a vaporizer and baby cold medicine. We gave it to Carter and we could immediately tell it was working because he stopped fussying and crying. He fell asleep shortly after that and only got up twice in the night.

This morning (Tuesday) Amanda took Carter to the doctor...she varified that he does have a bad cold and that his left ear is a little pink...we have to keep an eye on him to make sure he does not pick at his ear...if he does start picking at it...we have to give him some meds from the doctor...lets cross our fingers he starts to get better!

Thursday Gramma came for a visit. Carter was excited to see Gramma. Friday we stayed home and prepared for a busy Saturday morning. Saturday morning we went to the large sale for babies put on by the multiple birth association. We bought Carter some cute shoes and tons of clothes dirt cheap!!

After the sale, we went home. Saturday evening we went next door with Jan, Larry and the twins (Georgia and Matthew). Carter then got a surprise vist from Gramma and Grampy who decided to spend the night at our place because it was too cold out at their trailer in Chester Grant.

Carter's photo shoot with Mom!!!

Carter with his great Nanny and Great Poppy!!!!

Carter playing with Hannah at Gramma's and Grampy's house.

Carter pulling on Uncle Chad's big nose!!!!

Carter sporting his ferry attire while seriously piloting the boat with Grampy.

Monday we stayed home...never did anything too much...laundry...Carter has realised that he can make the "f" sound....we have been trying to get him to say fart...lol..thus far all we get is "ffff". He is rolling over very well these days...from one side of the room to the other. He has also figured out how to back up when up on all fours. Still not really crawling yet though...

Yesterday we went to playgroup...Carter took liking to the little girl named Maddison...is she ever cute. He was trying to kiss her and pull her hair. There were six babies in total there. It is nice to get out with some of the other moms. I found out about some other things to do with babies such as Kindermusic, Fit moms (walking with the babies), and there is a website that takes mildly used baby clothes and maternity clothes...

After playgroup, Carter and I went to the grocery store to pick up some grub! Pork Chops for supper....yummy!!!

Grampy giving Carter his first boating lessons!!!!

We got up early Easter morning to catch the 10am boat over to the island for Easter. Carter spent most of the ferry ride on Grampy's knee driving the boat. He was fascinated with the wheel. He enjoyed looking around at all the buttons.

Mom's whole family was getting together for the Easter tradition party. This was Carter's first Easter party. Peanut slept most of the way on the boat. Once we got out to the island, Carter spent time with his Gramma, Grampy, Great Pop, Great Nan, Great Aunt Sue, Great Uncle Wade, Great Aunt Betty and Great Uncle Tim...and Uncle Chad, his gf Terri and Hannah! Carter had a fun day of playing with only a 10 minute nap for the day. He got spoiled by everyone! By the time we left to go home, Carter fell asleep to the bumpy roads of the Island. He slept the entire ferry ride and most of the way home. .. he needed his rest.

When we got home, Carter got to play with some of the new toys that the Easter bunny brought for him. One of his favorites is his new phone and his rattle crab.

Just before bed, Carter was in a really good mood. I managed to get him giggling and laughing...so I decided to take a few photos....I'll post more photos later from the photo shoot!!!

Easter Bunny finds Carter!!!!

Week of Easter

Last week was a busy week....Carter is still cutting in his bottom teeth. . . Monday I would have to say that his teeth had to have been bugging him. He was fussy most of the day. I felt bad for the poor little guy. He did not sleep much thoughout the day nor did he have a good sleep on Monday night. Tuesday morning we were supposed to go to our Yoga class but when Carter woke up on Tuesday morning he was still a little fussy so we decided to skip. He fell asleep around 9 in the morning...and Gramma and Peanut woke him up around noon. Carter was excited to see Gramma. He played with her for a bit and then we went to Winners. Carter got some new books and we got Daddy some Pina Colada mix.

Wednesday was movie day. Carter and mommy got up early and got ready for the movie. The movie that was playing was Ice Age. Carter was awake for the whole movie. He enjoyed watching the bright cartoons. After the movie, we went to Carsand Mosher's to have a quick look at the new scrapbook things. We never bought anything because Carter started to get fussy...it was time for a nap. On the way back home, we phoned Daddy. We stopped over for a quick minute to see daddy. Since it was so nice out, Daddy decided to skip out on the gym and have lunch with us. We went to Dairy Queen for lunch and for a sundae....after lunch Carter and Mommy headed home with Peanut. After Daddy got home from work, we headed over to the mall to find some new clothes for Daddy...he managed to find a pair of pants and a dress shirt at Old Navy.

Thursday Mommy and Carter stayed around the house until Daddy got home. Once Daddy got home, we went to Zellers to price diapers and then to the grocery store for a few things since everything was going to be closed on Friday. Carter got a new teether. It is a little blue bug.

Friday morning we had playgroup over at Ryland's place. Carter got to meet two new friends, Wesley and Shelly. Wesley is 9 months and Shelly was 10 months. Carter enjoyed playing with Ryland, and all his toys. Friday after playgroup, we went for a drive to look around other subdivisions and to get Peanut out for a cardrive. Peanut enjoyed his ride and Carter had a good nap. Friday evening we went over to Jay and Jenny's place for a chocolate fondue...Carter got his first taste of chocolate. He loved it but was definately wired. He was up until almost midnight going full tilt.

Saturday morning we did not get up until 10ish. Carter slept in. After we were all up, we decided to go testdrive a new Saturn Vue. We really liked the Vue and the quote we received from the sales man was a good deal.... Ryan enjoyed how easy it was to hook in Carter's car seat. Carter seemed to enjoy riding in the SUV, no sun shining directly in on his little face. Saturday night I stayed up late making a Pina Colada Cheesecake....this was the first time that I made a cheesecake. To my surprise it turned out Yummy!!!!

Gramma and Grampy came for a visit!!

Grampy dropped Gramma off early on Friday morning. Carter, Gramma and I stuck around the house working on the housework. Grampy went to an auction for the government....never found any new junk to pick up....(the last time he got a dumpy yellow truck that broke down half way to Chester) Gr amma and Grampy spent the night. Carter was enjoying playing with both of them.

Chad, Terri, and Hannah dropped over for a visit...we had a BBQ. M&M's chicken...yummy!!

Saturday morning, Gramma and Grampy spent time playing with Carter before they headed out to their land. Grampy spent some time looking for an investment for Daddy...lol...an ice cream truck...I can see Ryan now...

I booked an appointment for Carter to have his Easter photos taken. He did not have very good Easter photos...he was too interested in the bright Easter Basket filled with Easter eggs of all colors. Plus he has been feeling his two teeth coming through making all kinds of funny faces.....we did however get a few cute pictures once all the bright Easter things were moved away... That is the pics I have posted to this entry.

We went out shopping Wednesday night. Carter got a couple pairs of new pants, two tshirts, a new onsie, and a really cute dress shirt for when we go to get photos done of the three of us.... never bought anything for myself or Ryan...it seems these days our shopping has changed from Ryan and Amanda to all Carter...it's kind of neat to be honest. Oh...and we also got some little swimmers diapers for when he gets to go swimming.

Thursday I figured we would take a break and just stick around the house. Carter was up a couple of times Wednesday night...I figure it is the teething kicking in...does it ever take a toll on you though when sleeping habits change...lol...Carter went down for a nap around 10ish...by 12:30 I had to wake him up cause I could not believe he was still asleep...When Carter got up he got to meet his friend Max for the first time. Max stopped over for a visit. Max was born the end of October....hard to believe Carter and Max are about the same size and they're a month and a half apart in age... Carter was really responsive with Max. He is starting to have an interest in other babies now.

Thursday night we had our cheesecake to celebrate Ryan getting his promotion at work! I bought plain cheesecake, one of Ryan's favorites. Carter was to bed around 10 on Thursday night, woke up for a 5 minute cuddle around 12:30 and was out for the remainder of the night until 7:30. It was good to get a complete night of sleep...although we both still don't feel rested.

ROLLIE POLLIE

When Carter awoke this morning, I went into his room to get him, and I was surprised to see that he had grabbed onto the side of the crib and pulled himself over and was looking at me on his side!! It was funny to see the look on his face as I walked through the door and he was already there waiting for me to come in.

This morning I put Carter down in the living room on his blanket. I left him there for 2 minutes to go and let Peanut out for a pee. I came back, and Carter had rolled clear across the living room! He lifted his head up at me and had the biggest smile on his face!!

The little guy is getting mobile!!

Tooth number two is just starting to push through the gums today!!!! I can just see the tip of it. As far as I can tell, it is not affecting Carter a whole lot. He is just not sleeping as good as he normally does through the night. He has been waking up for an hour to an hour and a half during the middle of the night...I suppose it could be worse...lol...

Yesterday we never did a whole lot. Carter was having some issues pooping...but it seemed to be fixed yesterday with 4 poops....and today has been going the same way...lol...must be all the food he's been eating...(Who would have thought we'd all talk so openly about poop!) Peas still seem to be the favorite veggie but he is now eating a lot more carrots and squash. Today for lunch he had a whole jar of squash and some apple raspberry for desert. He already had he big bowl of cereal for breakfast and lots of milk!

We went to Yoga early this morning. I thought I had the wrong day cause when we got there, no one was there and the door was locked. The instructor was running late...there was only one other person who showed up with her little boy. After Yoga, Carter and I went grocery shopping at the Superstore. Picked up a few yummy things.... The Superstore is beginning to be like Walmart. I bought all of us some clothes....Women's shirts only 10 bucks, Men's dress shirts only 15 bucks and a whole outfit (tshirt and pants) for Carter only 6 bucks! What a deal!

Once Ryan gets home tonight we're going to head out to do some shopping....we need to pick up some more size 3 diapers for Carter....we're now up to one full pack of about 80 per week. I imagine it won't be long and he'll be in size 4. I checked the grocery store for the little swimmer's diapers...the size small were all out of stock...I'll have to try Walmart or Shoppers so I can take Carter over to the pool. I'm curious to see if he will like the pool as much as he is now enjoying his tub.

This afternoon, we're sticking around the house with Peanut....doing laundry and hopefully Carter will have a nap!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

CARTER CUT HIS FIRST TOOTH SUNDAY, APRIL 2nd, 2006.

DETAILS TO FOLLOW

GRAMMY & POPPY MACDONALD VISITED!

This is weekend Grammy & Poppy MacDonald came up to our place for a weekend visit. As soon as Carter saw them walk in the door he started grinning. He didn't stop all weekend long.

Poppy took us all to the HOME SHOW in Exibition Park on Saturday afternoon. Him and Grammy wanted to look for neat things to help them finish their new 3-season addition to their house. They found a company that had just what they were looking for to screen in the new room. They asked for a quote.

That night we went out to Brewdabakers for supper where

Grammy & Poppy wanted to take us out for dinner for our wedding anniversary. They also gave us a very nice bottle of champagne.

Over the weekend, Poppy & I (Ryan/Daddy) installed our new car wash equipment which Grammy & Grampy Clothier gave to us for Christmas. We also installed one of the baby gates for when Carter starts to crawl. We were going to install the second one, but when we opened the box it only had half of the gate. I guess we'll have to take that one back to the store.

Mommy was a trooper all weekend and kept up with us. Carter didn't sleep that well, and she was really tired but still managed to keep a big smile on her face. Uncle Chad stopped by with his new van...oops I mean SUV. He traded is really fancy truck for a 2002 Ford Explorer.

All in all we had a very busy but good weekend. Carter loves seeing his Grandparents!!

Yesterday was a very busy day for Carter and Mommy.
Gramma C., Great Nanny and Aunt Sue came in. We went to Boston Pizza for lunch and then went to the nursing home to see Great, Great Gram. She looked very good. It was the first time Mommy has seen Great Gram in over ten years. We took a photo of the five generations. At the nursing home, Carter got to meet his Great Great Aunts, Debbie and Wendy...whom he had lots of big smiles for, and he also met his great great grandfather Fred. After a visit at the nursing home, we came home. Carter had a short nap...and then daddy was home. Daddy bbqued up some nice steaks for supper. It's nice to have the weather warming up enough to be outside. Just when Carter thought all the excitement was done for the day Gramma M. and Poppy came up for a visit. Carter had lots of smiles for Gramma and Poppy. He showed them how active he is becoming. He jumped and played until 10pm...and then his heavy eyes shut for the night.
